This is the perfect place for families and groups: comfortable, spacious and full of character. The house itself sleeps 8 and there is a gorgeously renovated sleep-out with its own bathroom and TV that sleeps 4 people.
 
Wifi is included and the property is fully fenced – there is even a kennel for the family dog.
Plenty of off street parking for the car and the boat. As well as having a wood burner there is electric heating that was installed in April 2016 to keep you cosy and warm over winter months.

Raspberry hut is a large holiday house located just outside of the Twizel township. The house has amazing 360 degree views of the Mackenzie basin and sits in a peaceful and picturesque rural setting. Styled as a hunting & fishing lodge and painted in traditional ‘farm barn’ red, the house is well equipped with bedrooms and large living areas including a large open plan kitchen, lounge, dining all with concrete floor that opens out onto large deck. There is a sheltered BBQ area with an outdoor lounge suite and fire – perfect for entertaining and enjoying the world famous Mackenzie night sky.

This house has a large open plan living with a great indoor/outdoor flow. The house is well insulated and has three large bedrooms and two bathrooms heated by a log burner and electric heat. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, dishwasher, oven, cooking utensils and fridge/freezer. Wonderful open plan living, perfect for entertaining.

The property is a short 10 minute walk to the Twizel centre where you will find the supermarkets, retail shops, cafes and information centre. It also has easy access to the Twizel loop walkway/bike track taking you close to the Twizel river for a pleasant experience. Twizel is also a great summer spot with water-sports, rowing, and canal & lake fishing all in close proximity and the Alps to Ocean Cycleway on the doorstep. A five minute drive will take you to Lake Ruataniwha and the surrounding lakes Ohau and Benmore are just a short drive away. To complement the summer activities you can enjoy a Twizel based Winter break with skiing at Ohau Ski field, only 40 minutes from Twizel or Tekapo’s family friendly Roundhill ski field. Our house was one of the original Ministry of Works houses built to house the workers on the Power Project. It has been extensively renovated and is fully wheel chair accessible. There are two bathrooms and it is very spacious, warm and sunny, with two large heat pumps and a log burner (firewood supplied) to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.
The house is centrally located and close to reserves, playing fields and walkways, with shops and restaurants just minutes walk away. It is on a back section, very quiet with great views of the night sky and plenty of off street parking. The space is decorated with a collection of our favourite pieces of art and a well stocked library of books for you to enjoy during your stay and making sure you feel right at home.

Bedding, bed linen and towels are provided for your stay with us and after you leave we will do a full clean of the house. A compulsory one off $95 linen/cleaning fee applies.

“Nightly rate” and “Pricing starting from” includes 2 guests, all additional guest are charged at $25 per person per night except children under the age of 2 years who stay free of charge.

Please note;
– The 4th bedroom is detached sleep out.
– Shower is over the bath and may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
